Rachel’s Blog…..Is the whole world against & opposite you?

Well well, I never had an idea to create a website until I figured that I’m lot more interested in it.

Requirements:
1. Concept of the site.
2. Breaking down the modules.
3. Coding.
4. Testing ( No error, WYSIWYG )
5. Hosting.

1. The concept was difficult part for me, coz I was working all alone. Their came an idea, I’m just crazy about the TV show called Fringe, where I don’t miss to watch it. The story is all about FBI investigation etc etc. But this concept was even more difficult for me to pull it out as a website. But I did manage to do it

2. Module 1: Day 1
Basic Layout in CSS: 2 column with header and footer.
Tableless: No tables, but just DIV’s

End of the day: Module 1 done.

Module 2: Day 3
Contents of the site: Obviously, HTML tags.
Images: Header and body background.

End of the day: Module 2 done.

Module 3: Day 4

Concept struck my head, for feedback/comments Navigation link, I wanted to do as below:
Validate the form: Javascript
Mail the form once filled-> Onsubmit will deliver the contents to my mail box: PHP

End of the day: PHP part done, except the mail is received as spam mail and not inbox ( Working on that still )

Validation: Yet to start.

4. Testing: WYSISWYG
Checked for both IE and Mozilla browser ( coz sometimes width would give problem )

5. Hosting: Used free hosting for my site.

I have used Picasa for lettering over the header image. Photoshop for opacity of image in about us link, where the BG image is fixed

I’m trying to change my job, if I’m offered Web Developer/Designer role. I’ll definitely go for a certification course. Once I’m done with technical certification. Next would be my French certification course.

Don’t expect much, coz this is very simple site ( At least for me ).

Hey,

Sheesh, how come I forget my username and password for my blog after this long gap. Anyway, just thought of dropping-by for a visit

What now? Does my title sound weird? If Yes, then cool I can tell you. Yes, partly I have decided to take a different direction in my IT career. Oh my God, Rachel have you gone nuts? If your asking me such a question. My answer would be Yo, babe

I’m working as Junior Developer in PHP ( What the fuck is that? would’ve been my ques in college ) , I should say, pretty much have experience with few open sources like Drupal, PJSIP, Asterisk PBX etc etc… Which means, it took some learning curve before I could start working with it. Here, developers are just a group of 3 or at maximum 5 in a company. So I’m working alone all while under supervision of senior developers.

Oh man, I’m just tried of it. Pretty stressful job for newbie like me. So planning to change to either testing side or as support person. But I’m trying my best to take up a job in non-IT field ( Which I would love to do )

Though my title says ASAP, there’s a saying that life doesn’t go as we think, so I’m not very sure of this change. It might happen or I may RIP ( Rest In Peace ) as developer.

Remember, this doesn’t mean I’m into blogging

Ah, which journey am I talking about? My job hunt or this blog. Yes, both of them. First of all, I’m happy to inform you all that I got job in the software field itself. Bloody, I had to fight the battle for nearly 6 months to get a job here coz me being a fresh graduate with no hands-on experience.

So far I have attended 6 interviews, in that only 2 interviews I didn’t get through ( 1 was HR and another was test ). Remaining 4 interviews they couldn’t hire me coz I didn’t have experience. This one was my 7th interview and thankfully they hired me

You would be surprised if I tell the place where my 1st round of interview took place. It was in the food court inside a mall. Isn’t that interesting, haha yes it did right. Then next day I was called for 2nd round, where they described me about the company’s products and so on, at the end I was informed that I had been selected for the Job. My start date is next week. So now it’s time for me to learn something and be serious, coz I had wasted 4 long years without learning anything other that a degree for name sake.

After reading all this I think you all have guessed that my next issue would be about closing this blog forever, coz I don’t think so I would find time to update it often, that’s why I couldn’t update it so long since I got really busy and serious in my job search.

I hope you all enjoyed my blog all these years, I too enjoyed reading your blogs and had real fun people. Thank all my fella bloggers who commented and motivated me to go on with my blog writing so far to reach nearly 177 posts.

Haha..it was 9:30 in my clock and so I started to get ready to go for Church. Around 10:30 left home, but I noticed that crowd was not the usual one and so had a small doubt. Then I came to know that I should have adjusted my clock to 1 hour behind i.e. the actual time was 9:30 and not 10:30.
